Must-have
- Degree in electrical engineering, physics, or a comparable technical discipline
- 5+ years of experience in technical program or project management of complex hardware products, spanning multiple engineering disciplines
- Demonstrated ability to run programs involving custom silicon, RF/microwave hardware, or photonics — you can follow a technical design review and ask the right questions
- Experience managing external development partners and supply-chain programs (foundries, EMS, component suppliers, subcontractors), including long-lead-time planning
- Strong command of program management methods and tools, applied pragmatically rather than dogmatically
- Comfortable building structure in an environment where not everything is defined yet — you create clarity without waiting for it
- Excellent communication in English; able to translate between engineering detail and management-level status
Nice to have
- Experience in defense, aerospace, or security industry, including familiarity with government procurement and qualification processes
- Background in radar, sensing, or optical/photonic systems
- Experience in a venture-funded startup or scale-up environment
- German language skills (helpful for German defense customers and authorities)
- Willingness and eligibility to undergo a German security clearance procedure (Sicherheitsüberprüfung)
- Certifications such as PMP, IPMA, or comparable — valued, but practical track record matters more
