Junior Electronics Engineer

My client is looking for a Junior Electronics Engineer to join a growing engineering team.

This Junior Electronics Engineer role is ideal for a recent graduate with a strong academic background and a genuine interest in electronics hardware design.

The Junior Electronics Engineer will work on the design, development, testing and validation of electronic systems from concept through to prototype.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop analogue and digital electronic circuits
• Support schematic capture, component selection and PCB design activities
• Build, test and debug electronic hardware prototypes
• Carry out laboratory testing, fault finding and design verification
• Support product development throughout the full engineering lifecycle
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams on new product development projects
• Produce technical documentation and test reports

Essential Requirements

• First-Class Honours degree in Electronic Engineering or a closely related discipline
• Strong final-year project involving the design, build and testing of an electronic system
• Demonstrable hands-on experience in electronics hardware development
• Understanding of analogue and digital circuit design principles
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB design
• Practical hardware debugging and fault-finding experience
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analysers and power supplies
• Strong problem-solving skills and a genuine interest in electronics hardware design
• Ability to take a concept through design, build, test and prototype stages

Desirable Requirements

• Degree from a Russell Group university
• Industrial placement, internship or relevant industry experience
• Experience using Altium Designer, KiCad, OrCAD or similar ECAD tools
• Exposure to FPGA, RF, power electronics or embedded systems development
• Experience with SPICE simulation tools
• Familiarity with design for manufacture and product development processes
• Experience producing technical reports and engineering documentation
• Knowledge of EMC considerations and electronic system validation

Salary: Around £40,000 plus benefits.
