LLVM / MLIR Compiler Architect – Germany (Hybrid)

I’m working with a well-funded European deep-tech company developing a completely new computing architecture designed to dramatically improve the performance and energy efficiency of AI workloads. Rather than relying on traditional silicon, they’re building a next-generation hardware platform that requires an entirely new compiler stack to unlock its full potential.

As a Compiler Architect, you’ll play a key role in defining that software stack from the ground up, working alongside compiler engineers, computer architects and hardware teams to shape both the compiler and the underlying hardware.

Compiler Architect Responsibility:

  • Designing compiler infrastructure using LLVM & MLIR
  • Developing MLIR dialects, optimisation passes and code generation
  • Hardware/software co-design with architecture and ASIC teams
  • Performance optimisation for next-generation compute systems
  • Influencing compiler architecture from day one

Compiler Architect Experience:

  • LLVM and MLIR
  • Compiler optimisation, code generation or compiler architecture
  • Modern C++
  • Computer architecture or low-level systems software
  • AI frameworks or accelerator architectures (nice to have)

This is an opportunity to work on genuinely new hardware where you’ll have significant technical ownership and help shape the future of the compiler stack, rather than maintaining an existing one.
