We’re working with a fast-growing semiconductor company building next-generation custom AI hardware. Their software team is responsible for enabling these novel accelerators through high-performance compiler technology, working closely with ML and hardware teams to deliver real, end-user performance gains.

Compiler Engineer responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and extend compiler components to support custom hardware features and accelerators
  • Develop and optimise compiler frameworks such as LLVM, MLIR, and GCC
  • Work across both traditional language compilers and ML/graph-level IRs
  • Collaborate closely with ML, AI, and hardware teams to support hardware/software co-design
  • Analyse ML workloads and map them efficiently onto target hardware
  • Contribute through code reviews, debugging, benchmarking, profiling, and CI ownership

Compiler Engineer background:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 1–4 years of experience in compiler development or related low-level software
  • Hands-on experience with LLVM, MLIR, GCC, or similar frameworks
  • Strong C++ and C programming skills
  • Experience with parallel or accelerator programming models (e.g. CUDA, OpenCL, SYCL)
  • Familiarity with profiling, debugging, and performance analysis tools
  • Exposure to Python, ML frameworks, or ML workloads is a plus
