FPGA Engineer

Develop FPGA technology where every nanosecond can directly impact performance. We are supporting a leading financial technology company whose hardware engineering team builds the FPGA and ASIC systems at the heart of a global low-latency trading platform. They are looking for an FPGA Engineer to join their team in Dublin.

Owning designs from specification through to live deployment, you’ll develop RTL for new low-latency applications while working alongside a small, highly technical international team. The role combines digital design, verification, and hardware deployment, giving you responsibility for technology operating within real-world production environments.

Alongside developing new FPGA functionality, you’ll help improve simulation, build, and verification infrastructure while working with high-speed networking and data interfaces. No previous financial or trading experience is required, making this an opportunity to move into high-frequency trading from another performance-critical industry.

They are looking for an FPGA Engineer with the following background:

• 2+ years of professional FPGA or ASIC experience
• Strong RTL development using SystemVerilog or VHDL
• Experience with FPGA/ASIC verification, including cocotb
• Knowledge of AMD/Xilinx, Synopsys, or Cadence toolchains
• Experience with high-speed interfaces such as Ethernet, PCIe, AXI, MAC or PHY
• Strong digital design and problem-solving skills

Experience with Python, C++, TCP/UDP, packet processing, hardware protocol offloading, or ASIC physical design would be advantageous.
