Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a fast-paced engineering team developing innovative and high-precision products.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical designs and manufacturing-ready components using CAD software
• Produce high-quality engineering drawings in accordance with ISO BS 8888 and GD&T standards
• Perform engineering analysis using FEA and hand calculations to support design decisions
• Work closely with manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure robust, manufacturable solutions
• Support mechanical assembly, integration, and testing activities
• Drive designs through concept development, iteration, validation, and production release

Required Experience & Skills

• Experience in mechanical design
• Strong CAD experience for detailed mechanical design and manufacturing documentation
• Experience using FEA and/or hand calculations to inform engineering decisions
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and ANSYS is preferred
• Strong Design for Manufacture (DFM) knowledge, particularly for precision metal components, CNC machining, and material selection
• Proven experience producing manufacturing-ready drawings and tolerancing to ISO BS 8888 and GD&T standards
• Experience with opto-mechanical or high-precision mechanical systems, including alignment-critical assemblies and thermal considerations
