We’re looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team and play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of advanced mechanical systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience in thermal management systems, electronic enclosure assemblies, mechanical design, and engineering simulation, along with a strong understanding of materials and mechanical testing.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and develop complex mechanical systems, including thermal management systems and electronic enclosure assemblies
  • Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, including component and assembly drawings
  • Develop and apply engineering models to simulate and optimise thermal management systems
  • Perform thermal and mechanical analysis using CAE and FEA tools, including stress and strain analysis
  • Support and conduct thermal and mechanical testing, developing appropriate test methods and procedures
  • Apply knowledge of materials science to material selection, with an understanding of material limitations in vacuum and thermal environments
  • Work closely with suppliers and contractors, managing technical requirements and supporting the successful delivery of components and systems
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams throughout the design, development, and delivery process

What we’re looking for

  • Significant experience in the design and development of mechanical systems, particularly thermal management systems and electronic enclosure assemblies
  • Strong proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD for mechanical and structural design
  • Experience using CAE tools and thermal/mechanical FEA, including stress and strain analysis
  • Experience in thermal and mechanical testing and the development of associated test methods
  • A strong understanding of materials science and its application to vacuum and thermal systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
  • An undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Fluency in both German and English
