Photonics Tapeout/Layout Engineer

A rapidly growing scale-up is taking advanced integrated photonics from technology development into production and is seeking an experienced Photonics Layout & Tapeout Engineer to help turn complex designs into robust, fabrication-ready products.

The role

• Lead integrated photonics layout, verification and tapeout activities
• Translate designs into production-ready layouts and mask data
• Work with PDKs, design rules and leading photonics foundries
• Collaborate with design and process teams to optimise manufacturability, yield and performance
• Drive tapeout deliverables and improve layout and verification workflows

The ideal candidate

• Several years’ experience in integrated photonics layout and tapeout
• Strong understanding of PIC fabrication and foundry design flows
• Expertise with tools such as KLayout, Cadence or equivalent
• Experience taking photonic designs through fabrication and tapeout
• Meticulous, hands-on and able to work independently
