Regional Service Operations Director – Semiconductor (EMEA)

Our client is a global leader in critical equipment for semiconductor manufacturing. Their systems keep some of the world’s most advanced chip fabs running, and their service teams work on site with major chipmakers every day. They are part of a large international engineering group with a strong reputation for quality, safety and long-term investment in its people.

This is a senior leadership role running the semiconductor service business across EMEA. You will own the regional P&L and lead a team of around 180 people across nine countries. The business has grown strongly and has a clear plan to keep growing over the next three years.

You will also lead real change. The business is moving towards outcomes-based contracts, where customers pay for performance and uptime rather than engineer hours and parts. You will also drive the adoption of new digital tools so decisions are led by data. You will sit on the EMEA senior leadership team and report to the regional General Manager.

What you will be doing

• Owning full P&L and working capital accountability for semiconductor service across EMEA
• Setting and delivering regional commercial and operational service strategy
• Developing new service contract models with sales, product and applications teams
• Supporting commercial negotiations with key accounts and building senior customer relationships
• Making sure field and on-site service teams have the capability and capacity to deliver, safely and cost-effectively
• Reporting business performance to divisional leadership through regular business reviews
• Leading and developing an experienced team of service and operations managers
• Building a diverse, inclusive and engaged team, with clear career paths and succession plans
• Acting as a visible role model for health, safety and quality in high-risk customer environments

What you will bring

• An engineering degree, or equivalent management experience
• Around 10 years in an advanced technology environment, including 5+ years in senior management across multiple countries
• Experience across the operational, technical and commercial sides of an equipment manufacturing and semiconductor business
• A strong commercial track record, including customer negotiations
• Proven experience leading teams and managing change
• Confidence working in a matrix organisation and influencing at all levels
• An analytical, solution-focused approach to problems and risk
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 would be an advantage
• Excellent written and spoken English. Another European language is a plus
• Willingness to travel regularly across EMEA
