An innovative semiconductor technology company is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join its growing engineering team. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge SoC and chiplet design technologies, developing software solutions used by leading semiconductor and technology companies worldwide.

This role is suited to engineers who combine strong software development skills with a solid understanding of digital hardware design. Candidates with only software experience or only hardware experience are unlikely to be a strong fit. The ideal candidate will have experience across both domains, including C++/Python development alongside Verilog/VHDL, FPGA or ASIC exposure.

Salary: €48,000 – €70,000 depending on experience.

About the Role

  • Develop and enhance C++ and Python software used to parse SoC memory map specifications and generate HDL code and technical documentation
  • Write unit tests and troubleshoot issues across software, tooling and CI/CD environments
  • Support validation and verification teams with regression analysis and debugging
  • Optimise software performance, scalability and usability for large-scale SoC design environments
  • Produce and maintain documentation for software modules and features
  • Collaborate with architects, software engineers and verification teams to deliver robust technical solutions
  • Work within Agile and Kanban development environments using tools such as Jira and Confluence

Job Requirements

  • Strong object-oriented programming experience in C++, Python or Java.
  • Experience developing software tools, applications or automation solutions
  • Understanding of semiconductor design concepts including registers, buses and SoC architectures.
  • Experience with RTL design using Verilog and/or VHDL.
  • A balanced software and hardware background is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with FPGA and/or ASIC design environments
  • Experience with modern development tools, CI/CD pipelines and version control
  • Exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude Code is advantageous
  • Fluent English (minimum C1 level)
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

Benefits

  • Opportunity to work on next-generation semiconductor and SoC technologies
  • International engineering environment
  • Exposure to advanced AI and semiconductor design tools
  • Career development within a growing, technically focused organisation

Interview Process

Initial technical interview followed by a final-stage discussion with the engineering team.
