We’re working with an innovative technology company developing next-generation hardware products that combine precision mechanical engineering with advanced electronics. As the business continues to grow, they’re looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to play a key role in developing products from initial concept through to full-scale manufacture.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering team where you’ll have genuine ownership of product development, working on technically challenging projects that make a real commercial impact.

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the mechanical design and development of innovative hardware products using SolidWorks
  • Create high-quality 3D CAD models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings
  • Collaborate closely with electronics, firmware and software engineers to develop fully integrated products
  • Design for manufacturability, reliability, performance and cost
  • Lead prototype builds, testing and mechanical validation, driving continuous product improvement
  • Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to successfully transition products into production
  • Contribute to manufacturing readiness, procurement activities and production scale-up
  • Identify and implement design improvements that enhance product quality, performance and manufacturability

You’ll have:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Mechatronics or a related discipline
  • At least five years’ experience in mechanical product design and development
  • Advanced SolidWorks experience, with the ability to produce high-quality manufacturing documentation
  • Experience taking products from concept through to manufacture
  • A strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and the integration of electronic components into mechanical assemblies
  • Experience working with suppliers, manufacturing partners and production environments
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering team

Desirable experience:

  • Experience developing industrial, consumer or other electromechanical products
  • Familiarity with PCB layout considerations and integrating electronics into mechanical designs
  • Experience working with rapid prototyping and low-volume production

If you’re looking for a role where you’ll influence the design of innovative products, work across the full product development lifecycle and help bring cutting-edge hardware to market, we’d love to hear from you, contact Gemma Rowe for more information.
