We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CPU RTL Design Engineer to join our team in Cork, Ireland. Responsibilities:
- Performance Exploration: Collaborate with the CPU modeling team to explore high-performance strategies
- Microarchitecture Development: Engage in early high-level architectural exploration, conduct micro-architectural research, and develop detailed specifications
- RTL Ownership: Develop, assess, and refine RTL designs to meet power, performance, area, and timing goals
- Functional Verification Support: Assist the design verification team in executing functional verification strategies
- Performance Verification Support: Ensure that the RTL design meets performance objectives
- Design Delivery: Work with cross-functional engineering teams to implement and validate physical designs, focusing on timing, area, reliability, testability, and power
Qualifications:
- Minimum BSc degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of experience in ASIC design, verification, validation, or integration
- In-depth knowledge of microprocessor architecture, including expertise in areas such as instruction fetch and decode, branch prediction, instruction scheduling, out-of-order execution, and memory subsystems
- Proficiency in Verilog and/or VHDL, along with experience using simulators and waveform debugging tools
- Strong understanding of logic design principles, including timing and power implications
- Familiarity with low-power microarchitecture techniques and high-performance trade-offs in CPU microarchitecture
- Experience with scripting languages such as Perl or Python
