FPGA Team Lead

North Holland, Netherlands
€110,000-€130,000
Job ID: 494321
We are supporting a fast-scaling semiconductor company developing next-generation networking and security technology. They are looking to appoint a Lead FPGA Engineer to take ownership of the FPGA architecture, technical direction, and long-term development of a growing digital design team.

This is a leadership role for an experienced FPGA engineer who still enjoys remaining hands-on. You’ll define FPGA architectures, lead implementation across multiple projects, and work closely with hardware, software, and product teams to deliver high-performance, secure hardware platforms. Alongside the technical responsibilities, you’ll mentor engineers, establish best practices, and help shape the future growth of the FPGA function.

The role will involve defining system architectures, overseeing RTL development, driving timing closure strategies, supporting hardware/software integration, and leading design reviews through to successful product delivery. You’ll also play a key role in recruitment, technical mentoring, and continuously improving engineering processes.

They are looking for a Lead FPGA Engineer with the following background:

  • 10+ years of FPGA development experience
  • Strong RTL development using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog
  • Proven experience leading FPGA teams or major technical projects
  • Expertise with Xilinx FPGA devices and the Vivado toolchain
  • Experience with PCIe, high-speed SerDes, networking, or memory interfaces
  • Strong understanding of system-level timing closure and hardware/software integration
  • Excellent communication and technical leadership skills

Experience developing networking, cybersecurity, or high-performance SoC platforms would be highly advantageous.
