About the position

Our client is a semiconductor engineering organisation specialising in RF and microwave devices, with dedicated wafer-level testing capabilities.

They are looking for an RF Test Engineer to develop, maintain and improve automated RF and DC test systems used in semiconductor production.

The position combines hands-on RF measurements, test automation, equipment troubleshooting and test development. Our client is open to engineers at different experience levels, including those with transferable RF test and programming skills.

What you will be working on

  • Develop and maintain automated RF and DC wafer-level test systems
  • Define and implement test methodologies covering S-parameters, noise figure, Golden Wafer and Gauge R&R
  • Develop and optimise test software, hardware and automation routines
  • Work with RF test equipment, including VNAs, spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes and signal generators
  • Analyse measurement data, including wafer maps, statistical process control (SPC) and correlation studies
  • Troubleshoot test equipment and production issues, supporting engineering and manufacturing teams
  • Support new product introduction, equipment commissioning and semiconductor device characterisation

What our client is looking for

For this RF Test Engineer position, our client is looking for someone with experience in:

  • RF and microwave testing, ideally involving semiconductor devices
  • Using RF measurement equipment, particularly VNAs and spectrum analysers
  • Programming or test automation using Python, LabVIEW, C++, C# or similar
  • Developing, maintaining or troubleshooting RF or electronic test systems
  • Analysing measurement data and investigating test failures

Desirable experience includes:

  • Semiconductor wafer-level or volume production testing.
  • LabVIEW development, although training is available.
  • Statistical process control and test equipment commissioning.

An HND or degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline is required.

This position is restricted to UK based candidates only , who must also be eligible for UK Security Check (SC) clearance.

Why consider this role?

This RF Test Engineer position offers hands-on work with specialist RF measurement equipment, automated test systems and semiconductor devices. The client offers flexibility around experience level, training in LabVIEW, a bonus of up to 5% and relocation assistance of up to £8,000.
