Looking for more than just another Senior Design Engineer role?

This is an opportunity to join a globally recognised semiconductor company while enjoying the benefits of working within a smaller, highly influential design centre. You’ll have the chance to take on genuine technical leadership, influence product direction and play a key role in shaping the future of next-generation mixed-signal products.

If you’re tired of feeling like just another number in a large organisation, waiting years for the next promotion or seeing your career progression dictated by tenure rather than ability, this could be exactly the opportunity you’ve been looking for.

As the company expands into exciting new markets including robotics, humanoid systems and AI data centres, they’re looking for a Senior Digital Design Engineer to help define and deliver the digital architecture behind their industry-leading mixed-signal motor control ICs.

This is a role where you’ll have real influence—not only over the technology, but also over how the Edinburgh design centre continues to grow.

The opportunity

You’ll lead the architecture and implementation of complex digital solutions, ranging from standalone IP through to full System-on-Chip (SoC) designs.

Working closely with global design teams, you’ll help shape future products while mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence across the business.

What you’ll be doing

  • Taking ownership of digital design project schedules for the Edinburgh team, coordinating RTL, Verification, DFT and Synthesis activities to ensure successful, on-time tapeouts
  • Defining the digital architecture roadmap for future motor control products and ensuring alignment across multiple international design centres
  • Identifying technical challenges and resource requirements early, helping projects remain on track
  • Acting as the technical focal point for the Edinburgh Digital Design team when working with Marketing, Systems Engineering and Analog Design
  • Providing technical leadership and mentoring junior engineers while helping build a collaborative engineering culture
  • Working closely with Verification teams to drive first-pass silicon success through robust verification strategies, comprehensive functional coverage and Functional Safety (ISO 26262) compliance

About you

You’ll be an experienced Digital Design Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems while taking ownership and influencing the direction of projects.

You’ll ideally have:

  • 5–6+ years’ experience in Digital IC Design or SoC Architecture
  • Strong RTL design experience using Verilog or SystemVerilog
  • Experience designing complex digital IP, SoCs or CPU subsystems
  • Knowledge of on-chip interconnects such as AMBA/AXI
  • A solid understanding of the complete digital design flow from architecture through to tapeout
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • A desire to mentor others and develop into a recognised technical leader

Why join?

  • Genuine technical leadership opportunities.
  • The chance to influence product architecture and future roadmaps.
  • Exposure to cutting-edge technologies including robotics, humanoids and AI data centres.
  • A smaller, highly visible engineering team with global impact.
  • Excellent career progression based on contribution rather than time served.

If you’re looking for a role where your ideas matter, your contribution is recognised, and you can genuinely help shape the future of innovative semiconductor products, than get in touch!
