Senior Digital ASIC Design Engineer

A leading semiconductor company is looking for a Senior Digital ASIC Design Engineer to join its engineering team in Whiteley.

This is a hands on role combining digital design, simulation and low level programming, with the opportunity to work on complex ICs from specification through to pre silicon validation and beyond.

What you’ll be doing

• Reviewing and developing RTL against technical specifications
• Running chip simulations and pre silicon screening
• Writing low level code, including Assembler, to exercise chip functionality
• Supporting the definition of new features for next generation products
• Investigating issues across digital and mixed signal areas
• Working closely with engineers across design, software and hardware

Required Experience

• Strong understanding of digital ASIC design and RTL
• Experience with chip simulation and pre silicon validation
• Experience working with chip databases or similar design environments
• Low level programming experience, ideally including Assembler
• Ability to work from detailed technical specifications and investigate design issues
• Good understanding of digital systems and how they operate at chip level

Mixed signal IC experience would be beneficial, particularly exposure to analogue and digital interaction, but is not essential.
