Delivery Consultant - Hardware

We’re supporting a growing engineering business in the commercial marine sector that is hiring a Systems Engineer – EC&I to support the development and integration of specialist equipment installed on large vessels.
As Systems Engineer – EC&I, you’ll work on electrical, control and instrumentation systems used within a marine equipment package. The role covers system architecture, requirements, electrical schematics, cable and termination diagrams, hardware and sensor selection, supplier documentation, product testing and commissioning support.
You’ll work closely with electrical, controls, systems engineering, suppliers and product teams to ensure the equipment is designed, integrated and supported effectively in real operating environments. The role also involves interface documentation, communications protocols, compliance activities, fault investigation and support for equipment installed on vessels.
This role would suit someone who enjoys hands-on EC&I engineering across hardware, controls, integration and testing, rather than a purely documentation-led position.
What we’re looking for:
Exposure to marine standards or classification societies such as DNV, ABS or Lloyd’s Register, functional safety, hazardous areas, FMEA, AutoCAD, EPLAN, MATLAB, Simulink or Python would also be beneficial.
Why consider this role?
This is an opportunity to work on complex engineering products that combine electrical design, controls, instrumentation and systems integration. You’ll be involved across the product lifecycle, from design and development through to testing, commissioning and in-service support, with exposure to equipment operating in demanding marine environments.
The position is based in the South of England, with hybrid working available and occasional travel depending on project requirements.
