Principal Digital ASIC Design Engineer - ASIC, RTL, Video, UK
We are looking for a Principal Digital ASIC Design Engineer to join our client's leading-edge Video and Displays team, based in the South East. This company world number 1 for ultra-low power, video decoder and encoder IP cores; undoubtedly one of the most exciting and fast-paced companies in the Semiconductor industry.
You will work as a leading member of the RTL design team, creating video intellectual property to be used by tier one semiconductor manufacturers. Direct experience working in video is not an absolute essential, provided you have in-depth skills in complex digital design and strong technical leadership ability.
Key responsibilities will include:
*working with the system architect to define module level architectures and documenting these module specifications
*translating architecture into RTL, taking into account constraints such as area, speed, power and performance
*RTL verification at module and top level
*synthesis and formal verification
*technical leadership of more junior engineers within the team
This is a fast-paced team of over a dozen engineers, so you will need to be flexible, a self-starter, and keen to make an impact from day one. You will be…
*a qualified Engineer (holding a BSc / MSc minimum) in Electronics or related field
*an expert in digital RTL design, including high speed and low power design
*a strong coder in VHDL or Verilog
*knowledgeable in the whole ASIC design process, and have a clear understanding of SoC architecture.
*Have a strong understanding of modules including filters and FIFOS
*a strong communicator who can work well within the design team, and build effective relationships with external teams
