CPU Verification Engineer

A global leader in advanced semiconductor technology is hiring a Senior CPU Verification Engineer to join its high-performing R&D team in Cambridge. This is a chance to work on next-generation CPU and SoC designs powering cutting-edge devices across AI, mobile, and IoT.

The role

You’ll play a key role in CPU Design Verification, ensuring complex architectures are fully validated before silicon.

• Define test & coverage plans from architecture specs
• Build scalable verification environments (UVM)
• Develop testbenches, assertions, and coverage models
• Run regressions, debug failures & track DV progress
• Collaborate closely with CPU & SoC architects
• Option to mentor or lead junior engineers

 What you’ll need

• Strong experience in CPU verification
• Knowledge of:
  • Cache coherence, memory ordering, branch prediction
  • Speculative execution & MMU
• Experience with RIS (Random Instruction Sequencing)
• Solid understanding of UVM / verification methodologies
• Ability to work at block and full-chip level

• Up to £90,000 base salary
